History

Fisher-Pou Funeral Home was established in Pensacola in 1868 by Felix Bonifay, which dates our funeral home back as the oldest continuously running funeral home in the state of Florida.

In 1987, 101 years after it opened, Fisher-Pou built a satellite chapel on the grounds of Bayview Memorial Park. Ten years later, the funeral home itself relocated to Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel and has remained there since the late 1990s.

Bayview Memorial Park was established in 1947 with only 6,000 burial spaces available at the time. Dora McAlister was the first interment, which occurred on July 2, 1947. Today, Bayview Memorial Park has more than 22,000 loved ones in its care.

Today, both the funeral home and cemetery are members of the Dignity Memorial® network, giving you the warm, familiar attention you expect from a locally operated funeral home and cemetery and the value you deserve.
